A Flagler County man is in jail today after authorities say he attacked his girlfriend with a baseball bat.James Branningan Jr., 39, faces a domestic violence charge of aggravated battery with a weapon, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. He was being held on $20,000 bail.
Brannigan's 38-year-old girlfriend suffered a fractured hand and a possible broken nose in the early-morning attack, the Sheriff's Office said.The victim told deputies she awoke to Brannigan hitting her with the bat. The victim's two daughters said they saw Brannigan grab their mother, choke her and then hit her with the bat.
The woman was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler for treatment.
A 3-foot-tall marijuana plant was also found in a closet in the home, the Sheriff's Office said.
