EHR development is underdeveloped. ?Or so says the experts. ?Actually, whether we admit it to ourselves or not, we may see that there is indeed some truth to these statements. Although EHR systems are already in use in other countries even before the American government initiated its adoption through the HITECH Act, it seems that EHR systems ? at least those that are used in the US ? are not yet geared for comprehensive use.
One of the tell tale signs that strengthens the notion of underdeveloped EHR systems in the US are the unresolved issues that are found in their EHR systems. Among these are the possible breaches in confidentiality and of course, the compatibility issues that come up as a result of the rise of an array of EHR systems and their providers.
If truth be told,?EHR development?can provide a huge improvement in the health care system but it can only be used for what it is supposed to be used if it is furthered and its unresolved issues dealt with accordingly. Otherwise, what will happen is that health care providers are merely wasting their resources in EHR systems while the public is fooled into thinking that they will really reap the best advantages out of the EHR systems of their health care providers.
